One visit is all it takes to fall head over heels in love with Weston Park. It is a more engaging experience than any other stately home or castle. It’s a love affair that captures everyone.
You do not have to be a gardener to enjoy the magnificent gardens and grounds, an historian to see why royalty and prime ministers are drawn to the beautiful house or an art critic to enjoy seeing so many genuine masterpieces and wonderful collections in every corner.
As for children, there’s the small matter of 1,000 acres of parkland in which to play. And an endless choice of special attractions including a miniature railway, Woodland Adventure Playground and the new Yew Hedge Maze and Orchard (opened Spring 2006) - to mention just a few.
Whether you are looking for a relaxed break as a group, a packed day out with the kids or leisurely visit around the House and gardens, Weston Park offers something special that will appeal to the widest range of tastes and age groups.
Fascinating history – scandal, fine architecture, nationally famous monuments and, of course – Little Nell

Albrighton is situated between the A41 and A464, about 8 miles west of Wolverhampton and 2 miles south east of Junction 3 on the M54. Our Nursery is situated in Bowling Green Lane. This leads off the High Street, and is the second turning on the left after the Shrewsbury Arms public house, when travelling in a westerly direction, towards Newport. Look out for the brown signs on the main road.
Boscobel House was built in about 1632, when John Gifford of Whiteladies converted a timber-framed farmhouse into a hunting lodge. The Gifford family were Roman Catholics, at a time when the religion suffered persecution. Tradition holds that the true purpose of Boscobel was to serve as a secret place for the shelter of Catholics in times of need.
The house was, however, destined for greater fame. Following the execution of King Charles I in 1649, his eldest son made a brave though misguided attempt to regain the throne. In 1651 his hopes were crushed at Worcester in the final conflict of the Civil War. Young Charles was forced to flee for his life.
Initially the future King Charles II set out to cross the River Severn into Wales, but found his way blocked by Cromwell's patrols. He sought refuge instead at Boscobel, hiding first in a tree that is now known as the Royal Oak and then spending the night in a priest-hole in the house's attic. He then travelled on in disguise via other safe houses before escaping to France.
Boscobel later became a much visited place, although it remained a working farm. Visitors can also see the dairy, farmyard, smithy, gardens, and a descendant of the Royal Oak. Tearoom available.
