Albrighton Traders

Introduction

1. The name of the Association shall be “Albrighton and District Traders’ Association” defined as covering Albrighton, Boningale, Boscobel, Donington and Tong to be known as “Albrighton Traders’ Association”
2. The Association was formally established on Monday 16 October 2006.
3. The Albrighton Traders’ Association has the following mission statement – “ to promote and encourage local business”

Objectives

4. The Albrighton Traders’ Association shall have the following objectives

  • Encourage both local residents and traders to use Albrighton’s shops, trades and services
  • Provide a united voice to other bodies
  • Promote a working partnership with local and district Councils, Crime Prevention Panel, Police etc.
  • Provide a forum where your voice can be head on local issues
  • Provide local publicity about the many businesses which operate in and around Albrighton
  • Keep members up to date with views and news which may affect their business
  • Create a members’ website giving detail of products and services of our members

Membership

5. Membership of the Albrighton Traders’ Association is available to all businesses in and around Albrighton defined as covering Albrighton, Boningale, Boscobel, Donington and Tong.

Finance of the Albrighton Traders’ Association

6. The financial year of the Albrighton Traders’ Association shall be as from 16 October.

  • The annual subscription scale shall be set by the Committee.
  • The Albrighton Traders’ Association is a non-profit making organisation.

Meetings of the Albrighton Traders’ Association

7. The Albrighton Traders’ Association shall hold an annual general meeting not later than four months following the end of their financial year. In convening such a meeting the Secretary shall give not less than 21 day’s notice to members. All other meetings shall take place as and when required.

  • Quorum: Three committee members of the Albrighton Traders’ Association shall constitute a quorum.
  • Extraordinary Meetings: An Extraordinary meeting of the Albrighton Traders’ Association shall be called by the Secretary of the Association upon receipt of instructions from the Chairman or two members of the Committee. The Agenda for any Extraordinary meeting shall not include the words “Any Other Business”.

Election of Officers

8. Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, PR Officer and any other title that should be deemed necessary. Election shall take place at the first meeting in each financial year until the first meeting in the following financial year. No person may hold the office of Chairman for more than two consecutive years.

Publicity

9. The Albrighton Traders’ Association shall publish reports on its activities as and when required and a list of these do****ents will be published on the Association’s website with the means to update accordingly.

Committees and Panels

10. The Committee may establish and maintain sub-commitees and delegate matters to them.

Revision of the Constitution

11. This constitution shall be amended by the Albrighton Traders’ Association provided that at least 75% present at the meeting vote in favour of amendments of which prior notice must be given.
